Incoming Freshman
Program Eligibility Requirements
High School GPA: Minimum 3.0 (competitive). Applicants should aim for a higher GPA to improve scholarship chances, as the average accepted MIDN often has a GPA closer to 3.5 or higher.
Standardized Test Scores:
Navy National Scholarship: (minimum standards)
- SAT: 550 Evidence Based Reading and Writing, 540 Math, and 1100 Combined or
- ACT: 22 English, 21 Math, and 44 Combined
Marine Corps National Scholarship: (minimum standards)
- SAT: Combined score of 1000 on the Math and Evidence Based Reading and Writing
- ACT: Composite score of 22
Higher scores are strongly recommended for competitive selection, with averages often closer to 1300 SAT or 27 ACT.
Physical Fitness: Applicants at minimum should arrive being able to complete the following:
Navy Option:
a. Males: 12:00 1.5 Mile run; 1:40 – min plank, 47 Push-ups
b. Female: 14:15 1.5 Mile run; 1:30 Plank, 21 Push-ups
Marine Option:
Males and Females must run a Marine 1st class Physical Fitness Test (PFT). A PFT consists of pull-ups/push-ups, plank, and a timed run where the maximum attainable score for any single event is 100 points. Marine 1st class PFT score falls within the range of 235 to 300 points. The 17–20 year old age group will be used to score all NROTC performance.

Medical Requirements: Must be physically qualified through DoDMERB (Department of Defense Medical Examination
Review Board) to activate scholarship. This includes vision, hearing, and overall
health assessments.
University Acceptance: Must be accepted to the ɫɫÑо¿Ëù (USF) or University of Tampa (UT) in order to participate in the NROTC program.
