Student Employment & Volunteering

Student Health & Wellness Center (SHWC) has job opportunities for student employees to work on various non-clinical tasks. Some duties include greeting patients at the immunization compliance front desk, assisting with the immunization compliance process, helping out with health-related events as part of patient outreach, and supporting facility operations. 

To ensure that our patients feel secure about confidentiality, undergraduates are not permitted to work or volunteer in exam rooms.

Student Health & Wellness Center has 3 volunteer programs:
--Health Support (HSS) - individuals may not volunteer in exam room, but may take vitals to support nursing in SHWC clinic or at vaccination events.  Must have health certifications. For more information
--Medical Response Unit (MRU) - individual must be certified paramedic, EMT or EMR to assist with mobile medical response. For application information
--Operations - individuals support patient intake, urgent care clinic, and patient outreach at health events through greeting patients, assisting clinic Patient Services staff, and communicating with Triage Nurse on duty. For additional information contact our Administrator
