More than 3,700 students across North America competed to design experiments bound for the International Space Station through the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP). Student participation has increased 36% year-over-year from the 2023-2024 school year to the 2024-2025 year. And now a new program in Barranquilla, Colombia and hosted at the Universidad del Norte, is slated for the summer semester in 2026 and will focus on computer science and information security.
