Staff Sergeant Holman was born on 29 August 1994 in Ft Lauderdale, Florida, and raised in Tampa, Florida. On 29 July 2013, Kalil Holman reported to Marine Corps recruit Depot (MCRD) Parris Island, SC, for recruit training at Company I, 3rd Recruit Training Battalion. Staff Sergeant Holman reported to the School of Infantry, Camp Geiger, North Carolina, to attend Marine Combat Training (MCT). Upon completion of MCT, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to Naval Air Station (NAS) Pensacola for 鈥淎鈥 School, where he received training to become an Aviation Machinist Mate. In April of 2014, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to NAS Lemoore, CA, to attend 鈥淐鈥 School, earning the Organizational Level F/A-18 Legacy Hornet Fixed Wing (Powerline) Mechanic, Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) 6217.
In May of 2014, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to Marine Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA) 312, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 31, 2D Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), as a powerline mechanic aboard Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Beaufort, South Carolina. In July of 2014, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to VMFA-115 to deploy in support of Marine Aircraft Group 12, Unit Deployment Program (UDP). Shortly after returning to MCAS Beaufort, Staff Sergeant Holman participated in multiple detachments to Naval Air Facility, El Centro, CA, in support of the Weapons and Tactics Instructor Course (WTI), NAS Fallon in support of Top Gun, and MacDill Air Force Base for joint training exercises. In March of 2016, Staff Sergeant Holman completed Corporal鈥檚 Course Resident Course as the Honor Graduate, receiving a Meritorious Mast. Directly after, Staff Sergeant Holman was appointed to the billet of VMFA-115 Color Sergeant. In July of 2016, Staff Sergeant Holman, deployed in support of MAG-12 UDP, serving as a Shift Supervisor and Collateral Duty Inspector. During UDP, Staff Sergeant Holman participated in multiple exercises to include both RIM of the Pacific aboard Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Kaneohe Bay, and Valiant Shield aboard Guam Air Base.
On 17 June 2017, Sergeant Holman reported to VMFA-251 serving as a Work Center Supervisor. Shortly after, he was appointed to the billet of Color Sergeant. In September of 2017, Staff Sergeant Holman deployed in support of the MAG-12 UDP, participating in a detachment to Thailand, Cobra Gold 2018, and multiple multinational and joint training exercises with foreign allies. In May of 2018, Staff Sergeant Holman was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (NAM) for superior performance in his duties as a Work Center Supervisor, VMFA-251.
On 5 October 2018, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to MCRD Parris Island, Drill Instructor School Class 1-19. Upon graduation, Staff Sergeant Holman received the 0911 MOS (Drill Instructor) and reported to Company D, First Recruit Training Battalion. In May 2019, Staff Sergeant Holman successfully completed the Marine Corps Martial Arts Instructor Course aboard MCRD Parris Island, earning the 0916 Martial Arts Instructor MOS. While serving within Company D, Staff Sergeant Holman received the Dan Daly award, as well as 2 completed cycles as honor platoon. In February of 2020, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to Recruit Processing Company (RCP), Support Battalion, and served as Drill Instructor and Senior Drill Instructor. In November of 2020, Staff Sergeant Holman returned to Company D, becoming Drill Instructor of the Quarter and later serving as Senior Drill Instructor.
In January 2022, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to VMFA-312, serving as a Maintenance Controller. In March of 2022, Staff Sergeant Holman deployed to B酶d酶, Norway, in support of Cold Response training exercise. In April of 2022, Staff Sergeant Holman deployed with VMFA-312 to Lask Air Base, Lodz, Poland, in support of NATO operations. In September of 2022, Staff Sergeant Holman returned to the powerline division as SNCOIC and deployed in support of MAG-12 UDP, participating in multiple multinational joint exercises in the INDOPACOM region, conducting dispersed aerial operations and relocation training.
Upon return from UDP, Staff Sergeant Holman was appointed Tire and Wheel Program Manager, as well as MCMAP Functional Area Manager, obtaining a 100 percent passing score on all major inspections. Staff Sergeant Holman then filled the billet of Division Chief while deployed to MCAS Yuma, Arizona, in support of WTI Class 1-24, as well as in And酶ya Air Base, Norway, in support of the Nordic Response training exercise. In September of 2024, Staff Sergeant Holman deployed in support of MAG-12 UDP, enhancing unit readiness, rapid adaptability, and cohesion with partner nations. In February 2025, Staff Sergeant Holman was appointed to the billet of Squadron Gunnery Sergeant. In September of 2025, Staff Sergeant Holman deployed in support of WTI Class 1-26. In
October of 2025, Staff Sergeant Holman was awarded the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal for outstanding achievement as Squadron Gunnery Sergeant.
On 13 January 2026, Staff Sergeant Holman reported to the 色色研究所 (NROTC), Tampa, Florida, where he currently serves as the Assistant Marine Officer Instructor (AMOI).
Staff Sergeant Holman鈥檚 personal decorations include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
