Serene Hasan, Ph.D.

Serene Hasan, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Leadership, Policy and Lifelong Learning.

She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Eating Disorders Specialist and Qualified Clinical Supervisor (FL). Hasan is the president-elect of the Florida Association of Multicultural Counseling and Development (FAMCD) for the 2025-2026 term.

Hasan鈥檚 research interests include counselor burnout and wellness, Muslim and Arab experiences, social justice, counselor education and complex trauma. She has presented at state, regional and national conferences, such as Florida Counseling Association, Southern Association for Counselor Education and Supervision and Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She has also published in multiple journals, such as Journal of Child and Adolescent Counseling and Journal of Professional Counseling.
