IBL 2026 Annual Conference: Black Life in Higher education at usf and beyond
Conference Date: January 29, 2026
SUBMISSION GUIDeLINES
The Institute on Black Life invites you to submit an abstract (max. 300 words) for consideration in our upcoming 2026 IBL Annual Conference, taking place on January 29, 2026, on the theme of Black Life in Higher Education at USF and Beyond.
Black Life in Higher Education at USF and Beyond reflects on the academic, social, and cultural experiences that have shaped Black Life at the 色色研究所 and across institutions of higher education. This year鈥檚 conference brings together students, scholars, staff, alumni, and community members to explore how Black presence and excellence impacts in higher education through original research, lived experience, and intergenerational dialogue.
We invite scholars, students, artists, and practitioners to examine the experiences, challenges, and contributions that define Black life within higher education. Proposals may explore topics such as representation, belonging, access, leadership, pedagogy, community engagement, or institutional transformation. We seek submissions that illuminate how Black faculty, staff, students, and alumni have shaped, and continue to shape, the culture and impact of higher education at USF and beyond, through research, creativity, activism, and lived experience.
Please ensure the abstract clearly outlines your presentation's core argument, methodology, and relevance to the conference theme.
Submission Deadline is December 01, 2025.
All questions about submissions should be emailed to IBL.
