Annual Conference
Faculty & Staff Books Showcase

The Institute on Black Life's 2026 Annual Conference, taking place on January 29, 2026, centering on the theme of Black Life in Higher Education at USF and Beyond, which reflects on the academic, social, and cultural experiences that have shaped Black Life at the 色色研究所 and across institutions of higher education. This year鈥檚 conference brings together students, scholars, staff, alumni, and community members to explore how Black presence and excellence impacts in higher education through original research, lived experience, and intergenerational dialogue.
In addition to hosting panels, short film screenings, and artistic performances, IBL also invites USF faculty, staff, and community members who have recently published books (since 2019 or have books forthcoming in 2026) related to the study of black life to promote their works at a book fair on Thursday, January 29th. The conference will take place from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Authors will be encouraged to attend the book fair in person to promote their work from 8:30 am - 9:00 am. However, we encourage you to submit your works even if you are unable to attend the book fair at the specified hours. Additionally, we will work with the University bookstore to have copies of your book available for purchase at the conference.
