BIOGRAPHY
Bianca Siegenthaler (M.A., 色色研究所) is a PhD candidate in Communication at the 色色研究所 and a Research Trainee at Johns Hopkins All Children鈥檚 Hospital. Her work focuses on healthcare communication, using qualitative research methods to examine how patient-clinician interactions and interprofessional collaboration affect patient safety, patient and family experiences, and healthcare teaming. She also teaches current and future healthcare professionals, including undergraduate students, residents, physicians, nurses, and pharmacists, about perspective-taking, navigating multiple goals, managing difficult conversations and uncertainty, and more.
Through her research and teaching, she identifies barriers to effective communication and develops strategies for medical education to address them. By bridging health communication and medicine, her goal is to develop translational strategies that enhance communication training for healthcare professionals, ultimately improving patient care, team collaboration, and the experiences of all medical stakeholders.
