On October 5, 2023, Mr. Rashad Barganier, a Senior Technical Recruiter from Amazon, spoke to over 100 students about professional development at a workshop held on our Tampa Campus. His primary objective was to provide students with a recruiter's perspective, helping them better understand industry standards and best practices when curating an ideal LinkedIn profile. The workshop was hosted by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) in collaboration with the Society of Asian Scientists and Engineers (SASE) and the Society of Aeronautics and Rocketry (SOAR).
The event's first half was an engaging and informative talk from Mr. Barganier, who shared his expertise in what senior recruiters are looking for in LinkedIn Profiles of interns. After a Q&A Session, upperclassmen with commendable internship experiences assisted their peers in optimizing their LinkedIn profiles and resumes. Additionally, the campus Photography Club (USPS) was there to capture professional headshots.
Thanks to this event, students got incredibly valuable advice about industry expectations and constructive feedback to elevate their professionalism from the perspective of a senior recruiter, raising the bar on Tampa鈥檚 growing technology market.
